What would cause my bass to buzz unless you rest your fingers on the strings? This seems to occur with multiple amps in various settings. Also, the volume can not be turned to max without a terrible hiss occuring. Any ideas? I appreciate the help.

Music stores seem to think everything is fine with their "plug and play."

The 'Frying Pan' noise you here which is louder with more treble and lower with less is the result of failed shielding contact under and around your pickups in the cavities or control cavity and the connection between them or.. the lack of shielding if it was never shielding in the first place. Fluorescent lighting makes it worse and Amps plugged into the outlets that feed off the same circuit breakers used for the lights is a cause of this as well. Still, good shielding is something an instrument should have regardless of where you play.

Thank you for the information. That does make me feel better. That is exactly the sound it makes, sometimes worse than others.

Also, if you are on a multiple-use or faulty circuit, try switching to other outlets. Try a few, you may find this to be a solution and help identify faulty circuits in the process.

I don't have this problem, anymore, with the Eden set-up.

I don't have this problem, anymore, with the Eden set-up.Well, considering what I know about your prior set-up, sounds like your problem was with your prior amp and not your bass. Really a moot point, given you now have a great set-up with your new Eden gear.

And a GREAT set-up on the bass. I will send you a link on your email of something I want you to hear.
