I just pulled my old handmade out of the closet. It must have been at least 3 years since I last picked it up and it is still in tune!

I bought it used back in the late 80's early 90's. It is made of figured maple with mahogany and is stamped "108" on the back of the head stock. It has a Badass bridge, Schaller tuning machines, soapbar pickups, three knobs and two toggle switches, and a rosewood finger board.

I was thinking of selling it but it plays so well I'm having second thoughts.

I would love to get any information/history of the bass.

Thanks,

MM

#108, PAS II model. Completed 12/16/82. Looks like a 3-pc neck, Maple with mahogany center strip and heel cap. I can't say if we put Graphite in this on.

What else exactly do you wist to know?

Please post pictures of the bass to make it easier to answer your questions. I have 2 small pictures of it from that date which then were my only form of files back then on the bass.

I was really interested in the year it was made. Also what type of finish was used. I would like to repair a couple of spots that have worn through. Any advice for that?

Here are a few pictures.

Thanks again,

Michael

Why would you want to? I would leave it as is. It's a vintage piece that looks pretty good considering the age. Just normal wear. Don't mess with it.

Take off the back plate and look at the label!

PAS II means Passive 2-pickups. We made 1-pickup models in the beginning with Active/passive circuits. This model is the original Smith shape before the BT.

Nothing was deleted here unless you forgot to POST it actually. You posted on the SC thread (http://www.smithbassforums.com/showthread.php?t=1390) earlier. That I replied to.;)
