What is that? Never heard that model name from them.

Is it like this bass? http://www.kensmithbasses.com/doublebasses/corsini-deluxe/

The one I had and sold was better looking in figure and purfling than the standard and a slightly better sound to match the price. It was only slightly more expensive.

High figure woods are not easy to find for basses. I think they make these Deluxe (or Elite?) model basses when the wood shows up and is available.

What I heard from the JR rep is that the "Elite" series is a new thing they're doing and has nothing to do with wood figure. I guess these basses are actually made by Mr. Wulter and a couple assistants with the idea being better control over wood thickness, etc.

What I heard from Rich Ratner is that the "Elite" series is a new thing they're doing and has nothing to do with wood figure. I guess these basses are actually made by Mr. Wulter and a couple assistants with the idea being better control over wood thickness, etc. I ordered a Corsini.

I never found any problems in wood thickness on these basses in the past. The graduation drawing they gave me a few years ago looked just fine by the numbers. I think it may be more advertising than actual Luthiere. Playing two of the same models side by side, old and new would be the only real way to tell. Even with that, 6 of each bass would be a better way to judge a model. I have bought and sold quite a few carved Corsini and Panormo models from JR buying from 3 to 6 at a time. No two of the same models ever sounded the same. Wood is wood!

I will give Rich a call one of these days to catch up on things and find out if these is any more information that is worth mentioning.
