I have seen only one Jacquot bass from the early 20th century and it was sloped shoulders with a round back. This bass looks like a typical JacquEt school/made bass. Possibly Gabriel or his older brother Gabriel Xavier. If I could see the scroll shots, it would be better. It could even be J.X. Jacquet, the father as I have one and the shape is similar.

It IS a french bass, for sure. But, so many makers made nearly the same model so it becomes difficult to tell.

145 grams. I prefer a bit lighter.. lol

Well, that is later then my bass of course but still would be nice if it was a collection for display. But, the bass is by John Hart and the bow was made FOR Hart & Son so not quite a pair unless both were made by the same person. There is a full generation in time between the Bass being made and the Bow plus it's not made by a Hart family member.

My Birthday just passed. Be a good guy and go Buy it for me. I will forever be grateful. ;)

it arrived today but unfortunately i sat on it while it was lying on the sofa.
what a pity.
i think i will use it as a growth support in a flowerpot now.
