hello all. glad to join be joining this informative blog. I've been playing bass for over 15 years now, primarily acoustic bass. I've studied privately and at the university level and I've played all genres of music across the globe. I'm mostly a "weekend warrior" these days as I gave into a 9-5. It was actually quite liberating; now when I go to play a gig I don't worry about getting paid, making the rent, etc. I'm there to play music! I believe that music can profoundly affect and effect people and that is my goal whenever I go out to play. Proper intonation, making a beautiful sound and all the technical aspects of playing double bass provide the foundation for making great music. I hope to gain and share as much insight into the art of bass playing as I can in and out of the blogosphere.
