first i thought it was a mistaking with pallotta and pallotton too, but it seems to be really "Peto Pallatton" (sounds a little hungarian to me...)

Pallotta is from Perugia and 1790 is near the start of his making era. All of the Pallotta's I have seen in person and in picture have Violin corners.

I guess it is easy to tell a fake when the Bass itself is nothing like what they are trying to claim and also if they can't even spell the name. Using a Hungarian translation of the Italian/Latin name is also a dead giveaway.. lol

I worked on a Pietro Pallota many years ago. Violin corners, like most Italian basses, very pretty and it sang! I think it was c. 1790?
