About Me
- About Eric Swaim
- Musical Background
- Presently I am a String Orchestra Director at a Magnet School in Smyrna Tennessee just a few minutes outside of Nashville. I have been playing bass since 1979. I have had wonderful private teachers through the years like David Hyde, Roy Vogt, Victor Wooten, Earnest Szugyi, Jim Furgeson, as well as several others. I received my Instrumental Music Education degree from Middle Tennessee State University. I hope to go back and get my Masters in Jazz Peformance after my kids get a little older.
- Location
- Murfreesboro, TN
- Additional Information
- I have owned over 250 basses in my 32 years of playing and 37 of those have been Ken Smiths. I have owned 15 Alembics, 3 Foderas, Warricks, Fenders, R-basses, Pedullas, Surine, Carvins, Peavey, and some I don't want to mention. I was looking for the perfect bass. There is no such thing. The perfect bass is the bass in your hands at this moment. That's why I play a 1988 Ken Smith BT4 and it does everything I want it to do with the music I presently play.
- Your Gear
- I use a 1988 Ken Smith BT4 that's translucent red. This is my 37th Ken Smith bass I have owned since 1995. I the way my bass sounds through an SWR SM400S and my Genz Benz cab.
- Why you joined Ken's Corner
- I joined Ken's Corner after web seaching and ran across the site.
