About Me

  • About James Resnick
    Musical Background
Lots of experience in R&B, soul, funk, pop, jazz, rock, folk, though I believe you can never stop learning. Hartt School of Music; former director of marketing at Fender Musical Instruments, bassist, guitarist, and automotive journalist.
    Location
    Phoenix, AZ
    Additional Information
I had a Ken Smith BT5 way back in the late 1980s/early '90s that I bought used at Creative Strings in Connecticut. I WISH I still had it. Thing was mega (though it also weighed as much as a Buick). I actually talked to Ken when I had it and he confirmed a few things about the specs.
    Your Gear
Basses: Peavey Cirrus (USA), Fender Jazz 75 re-issue (MIJ), Rob Allan MB-2 fretless 5 string (USA), Ibanez Musician MC2940 fretless (bought it new in 1986)
    Why you joined Ken's Corner
To school up on old Smiths and possibly find either my old one or one like it.
