About Me
- About Ricky J. Travis Sr.
- Musical Background
- I been playing bass for over 31yrs. I have played with all kinds of bands and people from the Contours to the Temptations to Aretha Franklin to S.B.U. to the Jazz Convergence. I play mostly Jazz Fusion, Rock, Gospel an R&B. I like the music of Allan Holdworth and Bill Connors and Miles Davis, I'm old school so I love old funk an R&B. The music on the airwaves today is just garbage to me, it's too commerical. I'm an Engineer by trade, so music isn't my main source of income. I just love to play, I have an M.B.A in Finance an M.S.E.E in Electrical Engineering. I make very good money already. I also played cello an string bass, I have a Knilling upright.

- I been playing Ken Smith basses for over twenty years. I love their sound, quality and his attention to detail. I have played basses by almost every bass manufacture out there and I always come back to Ken Smith basses. The craftmanship of Ken Smith basses is above anything I have ever played hands down. I'm also here to make new friends.
