    Musical Background
    Eddy Khaimovich, a much sought-after Israeli bassist and composer living in New York, has recorded his first album featuring multi Grammy-award winning trumpeter Roy Hargrove to raving acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Since moving to New York in 2001 to attend the prestigious Manhattan School of Music on full scholarship, Eddy’s facility and agile command of the instrument as well, as warm, deep tone and unique musical voice have earned him a solid reputation on New York music scene in Jazz, Classical, World and Commercial music worlds. A long time recipient of the prestigious America-Israel Cultural Foundation grants, he has played and/or recorded with world renowned musicians including Jazz greats Roy Hargrove, James Moody, Antonio Sanchez, Paquito D’Rivera, Francisco Mela, Fred Hersch, Oz Noy, Jason Lindner, Bill Goodwin, Hal Galper, Arnie Lawrence, Gene Jackson, Henry Threadgill and classical luminaries Lorin Maazel, Yuri Bashmet, Vladimir Spivakov, Maxim Vengerov, Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Lara St. John and Borislav Strulev, among many others. Eddy has been featured on the Israeli National Broadcast radio and has received coverage of his music by multiple programs on several Israeli National TV channels and International TV Channel RTVI. Eddy has appeared on the "Night Bird" talk show and at the live broadcast of the International Tel-Aviv Jazz Festival (2003), which has been aired since then in over thirty countries. He has also performed in many prestigious venues and festivals around the world such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Blue Note, Blues Alley, Smalls, Birdland, Red Sea Jazz Festival in Israel and UBS Verbier Festival in Switzerland.

    In addition to being a passionate musician, i like a lot of other things. Like the great Wayne Shorter said, music is only a drop in the ocean of life and without the rest of the ocean the music would mean nothing.

    - MTD 635-24 #2164 35" scale 6-string electric bass (endorsing artist), with MTD custom strings that I believe are made by Dean Markley and Bartolini Custom Proprietary transparent electronics - this is my main bass and more MTD's to come - this is truly a dream bass to play;
    - ERG Custom Guitars 34" scale 5-string passive bass, with DR Lo-Rider strings - this is an honorable present from the company luthier Ruslan Davydov and marketing director Alex Khaskin - a great passive bass;
    - Warmoth 5-string 34" scale fretless bass with D'Addario strings and Bartolini pickups and pre-amp - this is a present from my friend and amazing musician, Marc Stocker;
    - EBS black label pedals (endorsing artist) - MultiComp, OctaBass, UniChorus, BassIQ, D-Phaser, Stanley Clarke Signature Wah/Volume pedal;
    - MXR Carbon Copy Delay pedal;
    - Boss RC-30 looper pedal;
    - Pensa electric bass pre-amp;
    - TC Electronic Nova reverb;
    - Radial Engineering Tonebone Bassbone bass control center (includes a dual channel pre-amp, for doubling on more than one bass) and Bones Hollywood distortion pedal;
    - Electro-Harmonix Mini POG Polyphonic Octave Generator;
    - Ernie Ball volume pedal.

    Double Bass gear:

    - Russian handmade Double Bass from 1974 (Pirastro Eudoxa G & A and Evah Pirazzi A & E strings);
    - Antique French bow, circa 1830'ies;
    - Coda/Gage Metropolitan bow;
    - Fishman Full Circle acoustic bass pickup and Bass Platinum Pro 2 pre-amp (endorsing artist);
    - DPA 4099b bass mic (affiliated artist).
