    Musical Background
fine art and music have interested me ever since i began to crawl. i studied fine arts at Hofstra University and i've been playing gibson basses for forty years. i am self taught on electric bass and studied music theory privately on the six string guitar. i play blues, r&b, soul, rockabilly, and rock&roll. i listen to many other styles of music even though i haven't an interest in playing them all but would like to mix some jazz influences into my music in the future. my recording contract with Hugo and Luigi on the Avco Embassy label during the late sixties was my biggest commercial success. then i was asked to play some society music during the mid seventies after which time i began running sunday afternoon jams at local taverns that became popular event and now is a staple at clubs all around long island, new york. next i got into rockabilly and jam bands for several years and eventually started my own band about 1998; the "mudslide slim blues band", singing lead, playing bass, booking gigs, and being road manager. during this time i was nicknamed "slide". the band has experienced several incarnations up to the present. in december of 2007 i started teaching myself double bass which has been an extremely exciting new activity for me to explore.
