About Me
- About Ron Lacey
- Musical Background
- Started in elementary school on trombone and played that up through my first year of college. I was decent but not good enough or crazy enough to go pro. I picked up guitar when I was 13 and have added mandolin, electric bass, banjo, and my favorite - double bass - over the years. Today, I'd classify myself as a crappy guitar player, tolerable on banjo or mandolin, ok on electric bass and aspiring on double bass. Most recently, I've only played electric and double bass in public.
- Location
- Aggieland, Texas
- Additional Information
- I have pretty broad musical tastes. Jazz is my favorite genre but out here in the sticks, I make do and play anything - bluegrass, country, church music - really, almost anything.
- Your Gear
- Hybrid eastern European double bass from Upton. A nice Korean made MTD 4 string. Some other electric basses I need to sell and miscellaneous other stuff (banjo, mandolin, guitars, amps). None of it is collectible but all of it is serviceable.
- Why you joined Ken's Corner
- Followed Ken over from Talkbass. I appreciate his expertise and enjoy the much higher signal to noise ratio over here.
