Damn you Barber! You got me again with your 'barbed' tongue.

Still, you're not as bad as Sweeney Todd!

What is the point of a thread like this if you're going to write lots of names in one post?
And, do names of double basses like 'I'm Hungry' really count as a proper name when compared with, say, Albert Einstein?
Basses are inate objects and I object to them being presented as 'flesh and blood' on this thread.
Of course 'Riccardo Testore' would be okay because he plays with personality.:)
But, let's keep basses with no corners off this thread.

Anselm Hauke 05-22-2007 02:37 AM

richard, for me kens posts are really funny. (especially "i bumped my head...")
why don´t you post a pic of your bass with its name?

Sorry to hear that you bumped your head Anselm.
Well, Ken's posts may be funny but...
'Where you just write your name and nothing else' was conceived by me as being a serious thread. A thread where we could celebrate how we are identified as people. It was supposed to be a thread about who we are and where we come from. Your label that you carry through life. After all, I am Richard Prowse. Maybe there are others using the same label, but I still feel that the name is like my 'colour' or, like a car, my model as a human being. God knows that we already have enough silly threads in the Bull Pit!
I'd love to show you a picture of my bass (Riccardo Testore) but I don't own a camera. Anyway, you'd have to see him in his bag because he is shy about being seen naked.

Don't you get it, my Bremenian comrade?
We had to arrive at this point together. You and me. Ken too. It had to evolve.
There was a process that was required.
It could never have been posted as post #1, for the same reason that Santa Clause doesn't keep a diary regarding Christmases past. Did people in the middle ages forsee the social status of a G Unit?
I think not Herr Hauke.

TV Name...

Late in 1968 after joining Local 802, NY Union Local (while still in High School), I joined a Jazz Workshop. It was a Big Band with 100s maybe 1,000s of great charts. This was Lynn Oliver's Jazz Workshop at 89th and B'way above the book store for you old New Yorkers reading this.

The Band leader in my Band (I made Lynn's Band a year or so later) was the Baritone player. He saw me warming up with the Bow and asked if I knew 'Kenny Bow Natural' from some TV Show. Who?

Well, for awhile I was nicknamed Kenny Bow Natural in Studio #2!

Kenny Bow Natural

(The story was necessary, sry.. :D)

Every name probably spells something backwards.
