This can actually be taken three ways:
Are you are referring to the people who occupied the southern coast of Canaan in biblical times, or are you describing someone (or a group of people) who undervalues art, or are you making a reference to the team that will front up to the Yankees (whoever they may be) who are, in your opinion, a bit lacking in appreciation of the finer things in life?

Well Richard, with all the time you spend here posting silly stuff, I could suggest you look no further..:D:rolleyes:

The Bull Pit was re-named The Play Pen just to fit you.
If not, it would seem like the Forum went thru some warp in space or culture.:o

Did you say you were a Teacher by profession?
If so, what do you teach and to whom?

Yes, this is what I mean.

It is better to have loved and to have lost than to have never loved at all.

Well, the Philistines who occupied the southern coast of Canaan, in biblical times, are all dead. That's just silly to think that they could turn up to some modern sporting fixture. Now I see why Ken renamed The Bull Pit the Play Pen. Though, if he intended a reference to the southern coast of Cannan, The Sand Pit might have been a more appropriate name.
Option 2 (someone (or a group of people) who undervalues art) would imply that these Yankees are all sensitive individuals who are artistically superior to their opposition. I don't know if that's the best quality for a sporting team to have.
Option 3, if I may say so, is a little self praising, considering that you are obviously siding a little with the Yankees. What, after all, is the fate of an artist who sees himself as standing above the common folk? Remember that a bass player (or an artist) is only as good as his last gig.

It's getting close to that time that, at least "Here (US)" will have Halloween land on Saturday night.

With that in mind, I'm wondering what all of you folks are going to use for costumes. Please advise so that I won't become too alarmed if I see you. Of course, the easy ones will be those who are scary enough to not need to "dress up."

My friend Richard, since you'll be among the first to experience Halloween, won't you start us off? :D

I'm still tossing up whether to dress up as a Singer or a trumpet player.

Sorry, I seem to have forgotten. What other countries are in the world series?

I did some research:
"The World Series is played between the League Championship Series winning clubs from MLB's two circuits, the American and National Leagues, which collectively consist of 30 teams based in the United States and one in Canada (Toronto) with players drawn primarily from the United States, Latin America (including the Caribbean), Canada, Japan, and Korea."
So, players can come from different countries but 30 of the 31 teams are based in the US. Not exactly a world series. Maybe it should be renamed The US +1 Series?
Oh yes, and it seems that the Phillies are not from Philistine.

So you're dressing as --- a baseball? No, no - I think you'd do better as a bat swatin things around. How about it? ;)

Careful not to sew your lips together, my friend, resulting in no trumpet nor candy. That would be a shame. :)

Ken Smith 10-28-2009 11:00 PM

what??

How do you dress up as a sewing machine? Richard, are you discussing these thoughts with your doctor?

And what quarter are they in? Any touchdowns yet? Have the All Blacks scored? Maybe you should dress as a member of the All Blacks, Richard.

I'm starting a bass playing championship in New Zealand. I've decided to call it The World Bass Playing Championship. New Zealand bass players will compete for the world title, along with one Australian.

What's the point? My doctor thinks he's an umbrella.

Wow! Cliff Lee (Phills Pitcher) dominates Yankees in Game 1, including 10K's and a complete game, beating them 6 - 1.

Phillies: 1
Yankees: 0
