Phill's Sweep....

Wow, Phill's Cole Hamels pitches a complete game masterpiece to sweep Reds in the NLDS. It's lookin' like another Phillies and Yankees World Series in the making.

Tim Bishop 10-11-2010 12:19 AM

Rangers/Rays....

Cough, cough,...After a 2 game lead in the ALDS, Rangers get waxed at home. Series goes back to Tampa Tuesday night where Rays will most likely win it to move on and Play Yank's in ALCS.

Tim Bishop 10-11-2010 12:34 AM

One more fact....

Biggest difference over last year? The Phill's are a much better team.

What does this mean. Sorry for my ignorance. Tim I would value hearing your thoughts on this topic.
Thank you.

Tim Bishop 10-13-2010 12:21 AM

Wow! Rangers advance...

Wow! Cliff Lee is a stud. He pitches a complete game 5 in Tampa to beat Rays 5 - 1. Great Rangers game. I'm glad I missed that prediction!

Yankees and Rangers in ALCS Friday. :D

Tim Bishop 10-19-2010 12:35 AM

Wow!

Wow! Just not enough superlatives to describe Cliff Lee. Just Wow! He pitches game 3 for the Rangers. Pitches 8 complete innings, gives up 2 hits, 1 walk, and 13 strikeouts. He was ready to pitch the 9th, however, Rangers spanked the Yanks so badly in the 9th to win 8 - 0. This is looking mighty interesting. Go Rangers!

Ken Smith 10-19-2010 12:49 AM

huh?

So it's 2/1 Rangers now? Saw part of the Sunday game where NY lost. We so much wanna see NY and Philly again.

Tim Bishop 10-19-2010 12:58 AM

Yep....

Yep, Rangers lead series 2 - 1. This also guarantees a return to Texas for a game 6, IF the Rangers don't sweep the Yanks in NY to win it all (doubtful that would happen, but hey, who knows). Another thing to keep in mind: If there is a Game 7, Cliff Lee pitches it in Texas. Certainly not a done deal but the Rangers are lookin' gooooooood!

Also, I think the Phill's will see World Series action, if nothing else, on the strength of their pitching. Game 3 in San Fran tomorrow. I would love to see a Rangers/Phill's World Series.

Go Rangers!! I've been a Ranger's fan since 1983. I've suffered enough.
Bring it home.

Tim Bishop 10-19-2010 01:52 PM

Yes...

Same for me Bill and I can sooooo relate. The Rangers big catch-phrase this year has been - "It's time". Couldn't agree more. I want to be able to say 'It's about time', not only in about a week from now, but also about two weeks from now. :)

Tim Bishop 10-20-2010 01:17 AM

Rangers again.....

Another Yankee spankin' from the Texas Rangers as the Rangers win game 4 by a score of 10 - 3. Rangers now lead ALCS 3 games to 1. Rangers could take it all tomorrow. :)

Tim Bishop 10-20-2010 09:05 PM

Not today....

A better outing by CC Sabathia and worse outing by CJ Wilson gives Yankees a Game 5 win. Back to Texas for Game 6 Friday night. The next two games are going to be real interesting. ALCS: Rangers 3 - Yankees 2.

Tim Bishop 10-23-2010 12:18 AM

Yes, "It's Time".....

Congratulations Texas Rangers! Colby Lewis pitches the game of his career and the Rangers win Game 6 for their first trip to the World Series. Rangers:6 - Yankees 1. Awesome team effort by Rangers. :D

Bill Sallee 10-23-2010 01:45 PM

What a series. :) The Rangers made the Yankees look old and tired by beating them in every aspect of the game. Out pitched, out hit, out ran, out managed.
Colby wins and saves Cliff Lee for the World Series Opener.

Bass Content:
Now I'm off to play "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" on the DB.

Tim Bishop 10-23-2010 07:21 PM

Yep...

Yep, and if Rangers continue to play their A-Game, it won't matter who they play (Giants or Phillies). Lookin' forward to Game 1 of WS.

Until then, Phill's are down 3 games to 2 but are in Philly tonight playing Game 6. Phill's are in the same situation as the Yank's were and need to win next 2 to advance.

Tim Bishop 10-24-2010 12:43 AM

Over for the Phill's...

Phill's had their opportunities, but couldn't get it done. Giants prevail in Game 6 by a score of 3-2. It will be a Rangers and Giants World Series: A series of the underdogs and who would've thought, as recent as a couple weeks ago, it would've turned out this way. Should be a good one.

Tim Bishop 11-01-2010 11:44 PM

Congrats to SF....

Congratulations to San Fran: Giants showed up; Rangers didn't.

Happy Thanksgiving!

TURKEY RECIPE

I thought this sounded good! Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing ingredient -- imagine that When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when turkey is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try.

8 - 15 lb. turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good)
1 cup un-popped popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT IS BEST)
Salt/pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper.

Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan making sure the neck end is toward the front of the oven, not the back.

After about 4 hours listen for the popping sounds.

When the turkey's ass blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room.... it's done.

And you thought I didn't cook...:D

Terry McDougal 11-24-2010 02:44 AM

I don't really get it. Isn't the plan to eat the turkey?
Ah well, whit's fur ye'll no go by ye!

Terry McDougal 12-09-2010 01:38 AM

What happened to Tim Bishop?
If you go into the Members' list, his 'last visit' is listed as 'N/A'.
There are a few of these in the Members' list. Does anyone know what this means?
He seemed to be an ardent KSB fan (judging by his posts and his public profile), so why would he choose to leave?
Strange?

Really? I don't see that unless he did something with his options.

Ah dinnae ken. So how does one achieve the N/A option for his 'last visit' option on the members' list?
I see there is a thing called 'invisible mode'.

Terry McDougal 12-09-2010 02:49 AM

Hey, I should be in invisible mode now!

Terry McDougal 12-09-2010 02:51 AM

Just turned it off again. Hi.

Richard Prowse 12-09-2010 03:08 AM

I haven't been here for a long while, but I noticed that my brother Robert has the same N/A thing in that column. It may be a way of getting rid of people?
Really I don't know, I was just surfing by and read your post Terry.
As I said, I don't come here often.
Ken has good things to say about bass set ups and is very knowledgeable about double basses - you will learn a lot here.

Tim Bishop 12-09-2010 09:22 AM

I'm not seeing 'N/A' and as of this morning, the last time I checked, I still have a pulse. I'm even about to make a fresh cup of coffee. :)
