Old German...hybrid flatback?

Hi!

I was wondering if I could have some help from the knowledgeable members on the identification of my bass? There are no repair or manufacturing labels etc.

I was told that it seems like a pretty old (may 30-40 years?) European flatback, and could be a possibly be a hybrid instrument with a laminated back. So sorry for the bad photos!

Difficult to say if it is German, Austrian, Hungarian or something between. The Scroll/Pegbox work is more of an exaggerated Viennese/Hungarian style head/box.

I see very little wear on the top from playing experience. To tell if it is hybrid, we need to see the edges of the top and back and see if the grain runs thru front to back or has layers of wood.

I think this bass is brand new, lightly antiqued-made eastern Europe or German made to look Eastern, a copy of nothing but a mix of styles from those areas. The tuners which I bet are original are Brand New so you can date the bass from that.
