How do I clean this? Help please

Hi,
Suddenly I look to my bass and got surprised how this happened!
It's made by a Hercules bass stand for sure.
Anyway, do have any idea how to get rid off these marks?
Should the KS products clean this up?

Thanks in advance

Pedro

Some stands are made with Rubber that has solvents that 'bleed' into the finish. The finish and the rubber may have become one here and maybe thru the finish and into the wood. Cleaning this might require re-finish touch up. We use a mixture of oil type products to build up this finish and it is something we can not give away or explain. Also, the age of the bass and natural oxidation of the wood and finish overtime darken the color, so new finish will not blend in and be 'one' for many years if at all.

Try a cotton ball with isopropyl alcohol and rub gently with the grain if possible to see if it comes off without harming the finish if at all. Also, if you can rub with a paste wax that smells like it has turpentine in it, this might also lift the rubber OFF the finish if it is not already IN the finish.

Contact the company that sells this stand. Maybe they will pay to refinish your bass. This is not an easy or inexpensive job.

Forgot to mentioned that it's happenning on the back also,
It started to get sticky to my t'shirts

The Dye from your shirts mixed with warm sweat leak into the finish, stain the wood and wear the finish away. This is what happens. Nothing we can do for you except try and re-finish the bass if you send it here. That will not be cheap and we cannot guarantee all the stains will come out if they are deep into the wood. Sorry..
