Hey all,
We played at a "Tie Dye" party at The Palisade Brewing Co. in Palisade, CO on Sunday. We had a great time!
The brews, food and crowd were amazing and the vibe just worked!
We did experience a short drizzle (weather in Western Colorado!!) but the day was fine.
My BSR5MW, however, was not.
I didn't wipe all of the drops off right away and now, there are a few water marks on the top.
I put Ken's Secret Sauce on yesterday but, some marks are still visible!
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated. Except, of course, stay out of the rain!!
Keep the music LIVE and dry, Kirk

The minerals or acid in the water could have gone into the finish and thru it as well. Only a refinish will fix it if the wood itself has not been stained or penetrated too deep. 'Ken's Secret Sauce' is the combined mixture we use for finishing and not the wax polish we sell for waxing and cleaning. Wax is not finish.

Hey, Ken,
Thanks for the reply.
Am I mistaken calling the "Smith Classic Wax Polish", which came with my bass, your "Secret Sauce"?
If I'm using the wrong stuff, I'll check your website and procure the correct liquid and set myself, and my bass, right.
Thanks again, Kirk

Yes, read here from the website;
FINISH: Classic Hand Rubbed Dutch Varnish over Stradivari Gold Oil

Re-finish is not easy. The bass has to be completely dis-assembled, stripped, sanded, re-finished with all the steps and then re-assembled and set-up again. We do not sell out finish mixes nor do we teach how to do what we do so to do it yourself, you will just have to buy what you can find and learn how to finish a bass. It won't be exactly as we do but it can be done.

Thanks Ken,
I'll just live with the results of my errors!
There are a few subtle smears on the body but, as they say down on the farm, "it don't hurt the runnin' of it none"!
As always, thanks for your help, Kirk

I haven't seen it so I can't say but, it can get worse if left alone. Stains get deeper and darker so yesterday was a better time to start fixing it than tomorrow!
