This is a beautiful French Bass, Paris/Bernardel School c.1900-1920. Unlike the Mirecourt school where just about every violin cornered bass has the Purfling going around both the upper top and back as well a the back false Cello button, this violin cornered bass is clean and simple. The quality is in the simplicity of the beautiful craftsmanship.
