Silk on Low B extends over nut

Hi all,

I've been using Slick Rounds on my Quantum 5 for almost two years and I love them. But the last three times I've changed strings I can't seem to avoid the purple silk on the Low B extending into the first fret.

Is there anything I can do to avoid this? It's not a huge problem, but I think it make some difference in tone for that low C which I do hit now and then.

Thanks!
Chad

We make 2 lengths on that Low B. How long is your bass from the ball till it clears the nut, including the ball?

You can just call and order the right one.

Thanks, Ken. The distance from ball to nut clearance is 37 inches. Which one should I order?

You need the longer string that's 37.5"-38", ball to silk. If you bought the regular 36.5" length in the past, then this would be the reason for the problem.
