Bluegrass Slap

I came across Joe Zincan by accident (a friend posted this clip on his blog).

I really like what he does.
Does any one play this style? I'd like to try to learn some of that slap.

Well, with that thumb wrapped around the neck like a Major Leaguer up at bat, he would break something trying to play the E string.

Maybe it's a 3/4 technique, 3/4's of the strings used I mean. :(

Mr Botessini didn't need an E string either.:)
Surely the sound you make is more important than the technique?;)
Sorry Ken, but I love this guy.
