Wood color change

I am wondering, as I was looking into my 5TN and my 6EG, i noticed that the TN has changed color in the neck. The wood looks much darker, compared to my 6EG. Is it normal, or the wood just need to be clean? I was thinking it is because the wood has aged.

The TN is an oil/varnish finish mix and not a sealed lacquer coating. Therefore, it can darken with age and wear. The 6EG will change slightly over time but probably at a slower rate.

So its normal and I don't have anything to worry about?

Hey Desmund,
Great basses! I've noticed that every time I play my Smith basses all the other bassists faces become green
Just play them... forget all worries.
