David McLaughlin

Yes, David McLaughlin is my real name. I was a full time professional musician for about 30 years, but now play and teach music part time while running a historic inn in Winchester, VA. The old inn is called the Nancy Shepherd House Inn.

Although I am mostly known for other musical instruments, I have had a lifelong love for the bass, both electric and acoustic. I joined this site because of my appreciation for Ken's sharing of information on the topic over the years.

Welcome David, this forum is in my opinion one of the most knowledgeable online. The members here are very helpful, they offer good advice.

Thank you, John. Yes, "very helpful" and "good advise" is exactly why I'm here. Here, it is all meat and no filler.

Over the years I have learned a LOT about basses from Ken Smith and all you guys.

We had the pleasure of meeting David last week and can't wait to see his big basses.

Wolf's shop is amazing.

Hey, Thanks, Thomas. It was great to see your amazing shop...a huge place full of high-end stuff, for sure. Your keyboard building is nearly a lost art, so thanks for keeping the tradition going at its finest. And the basses you build are spectacular, too.

I'm planning on bringing my giant Juzek (45 inch string length) bass to you for a fingerboard resurface job.

good to meet you David
