Ampeg Baby Bass.. $$ ??

Hi, I have been asked by a local family/widow here to help sell an early original Ampeg Baby Bass in its original cover as well. Other then the neck set that is set low to the strings and the action high which is adjustable, the bass looks to be in great condition. They also have two polytone amps as well.

What is the going price today for an original late 1960s Ampeg Baby Bass in great condition?

I just searched TB/DB for you.
. One sold in August for $2500.
. Another red apparently one did not sell in July for that price.
. Another one in Cincy asking $2150 sold June

There was some stuff I cruised past that might have said the neck-set was adjustable.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need more look-see over there.

Thanks Sam. I will let the Family know. I am not sure how they want to sell it. The don't want people coming to their house and it is hard to convince them the bass needs to be adjusted. The strings are up an inch high and impossible for any modern players to use. We will see.

Latin bands love these

I wonder if you might try contacting some bassists like Maximo Rodriguez

who plays with http://spanishharlemorchestra.net/the-musician/

or maybe the Philadelpha group, The Mambo Syndicate

I sent a link to this via PM and e-mail to a TB'r who appears to be intereted in these basses
