I just received this in an email from Bob Oppelt, principal bassist of the National Symphony.

Hello!..To some of my fellow bass players,

I just wanted you to know that I got together with George Vance and published the first six Dragonetti Waltzes, in the style that some of you or your students may have heard it on the CD I put out a couple of years ago. I think young bassists will find it helpful. I'm donating my portion of any proceeds back to George. Perhaps you heard that he will be undergoing treatment for a serious type of cancer.
