Want know more about my CR5
 
hi my friend i´m a new user , i´m from mexico, i have got a used CR5 but i would know more about it (features, finish, woods, etc)

the serial number is CR5MQ25694

From the number alone I can tell you this;

Model = CR5M

Q = Quilted maple body wings

256 = 256th bolt-on bass made

94 = made or completed in 1994 (The actual completion date is on the label inside the back plate.)

All Smith basses are made from older wood and wood parts made here in our Perkasie, Pa shop. In 1994 we were in the previous building about 5 blocks down the road, 1/4 mile. The date in the bass is when it was finished but parts of it could have been started a year, two or three before and from lumber that was sitting in the building a long time as well. We do not buy pre-made parts like many other builders and companies.
