NBD "Red" transparent Ken Smith

:D

Happy new year, fellows.

I just received this red Ken Smith BT4 as the new year present for one of my best friends –

I apologize that the color doesn't seem to translate well to photo... and the actual instrument looks much more appealing in person.

Thanks Ken for building such amazing basses!

btw, if you don't mind me asking, since when did this kind of finish disappear from the market? I believe there's a good reason for stopping such finish options, making this piece even more rare.

When this was made, (around 1986-1989?), we tried a few basses with a finish like this, only a few. There is a blue one or two as well and a few reds in 4, 5 and 6 I believe. Not many were made.

Ah, that was my bass. I sold it to your friends I guess. It is a great playing bass, and one of the best 4 strings I ever had. Enjoy it!
