Hey all,

I am a young bass player in the UK, playing a six string Overwater custom bass. I did go through a phase of desperatley wanting a Smith bass, but I ended up going for an Overwater due to them being so local to me. I will own a Smith one day I hope though:) I am also a bass trombonist and double bass player, and have joined the forum to help me a bit more on my quest to find the right double bass to upgrade from my current bass.

Hi Matt. Dropping a "hello" and "welcome" to you. Seems we might have a British Invasion thing happening! Cool. I was checking out one of my old British Invasion insprirations, who is a keyboardist and composer, not a bassist, but I was just wondering, what do you fellows think of Jon Lord over there? Have you heard any of his newer work? I was thinking of checking out his new CD and just wondered if he has national hero status in UK, like some other rock musicians? Any chance he or the other Purple people might become "Sir" fellows?
