C-extension closure backing material

So what is a good C-extension closure backing? Maybe a suede, or felt?

Would hide glue be suitable for this application? And if not, which glue.

A chunk of leather is the way to go. Remove the old glue and use Titebond or any yellow-type glue to attach the leather pad. Clamp or tape it in place and wait an hour or so before using.

The Leather that Arnold put on all my Extensions work just fine. Jeff Bollbach just made me an Extension using Neoprene in place of Leather.

I don't see much difference in the usage between the two. Jeff had Restored my Bisiach labeled Bass as I had Arnold 'booked' at the time so I had him make the extension for it as well. I asked him to make me an Extension to be as close to Arnold's as possible as that is what I was used to. He made his to work just about the same but looks like his own design apart from Arnold's.

Leather or Neoprene seems to do the trick for the 'fingers'!
