Hi from the San Francisco Bay Area
 

My name is Ryan Jacobs, I'm a born and bred Californian, now living in Mountain View between San Francisco and San Jose. I took classical piano when I was very young, switched to jazz saxophone in middle school, taught myself jazz piano at the same time, went to UC San Diego and graduated in 2004 with a degree in music composition. My senior year there I picked up guitar (electric and acoustic) and started a rock band called "The Drinks." We recorded and released a CD called "Grr" which is now on iTunes and other places on the internets. Two years later, I rented an upright bass and took some lessons. Now I'm here on this forum.
