Well, looks like this bass was ordered this way....

Well, looks like this bass was ordered this way. Nice bass, very clean. I have a '92 BT5G Zebra. Looks similar to this one, except a neck-thru with same woods, however, 3 band pre. I LOVE it!

...However, who did the mod on the pre-amp and body? It looks like someone replaced the mid control with a 1/4 jack.

My first Smith was a Burner 6 Onyx Black with Soapbar P/U's (in other words, just like this one except with 6 strings and Soapbar P/U's). Still have that bass today. It was actually THE LAST Burner...

Based on above pic: Looks like the core body wood is black walnut with maple laminates. The center block is maple. The top wood I am guessing is Shedua or a species of walnut? With the serial number...

There's allot of nice light-weight amps out there on the market that can put out around 500W at 4 ohms and weigh around 4lbs.
