Also, you should realize when in 'passive' mode, the pre-amp is disabled. Only your 'Volume' and 'Pan' controls would be controllable.

Monster Cables....

I've been using Monster Cables with Smith Basses for 15 years and have never had an issue. I even use straight 1/4 plug ends into my Smiths, however, I am also VERY careful with how I return my bass...

Temperature can have an impact on any instrument as it relates to tuning or otherwise. What I do know for certain (after 15 years of playing every model Smith made) is this: The necks on Smith basses...

Well, looks like this bass was ordered this way. Nice bass, very clean. I have a '92 BT5G Zebra. Looks similar to this one, except a neck-thru with same woods, however, 3 band pre. I LOVE it!

Lightbulb Protective film....

There's a clear protective film (slightly tacky on the backside but doesn't harm finish) that you could apply to the back. Similar to what is utilized on iPhone or Cell phone displays. Not sure...
