Christopher

Richard -
I've played a few Chrissies - they're "pretty good". I think you should be able to get a bit more bass for that price.

DO you know about Jacques Gagnon? He was making nice basses in...

Since you asked . . .

Ken, since you asked, I got out the tape measure to find those measurements.

Surprise, surprise - the string length is actually 1/8" shorter than it was. It's exactly 41" now. (weird - I could...

Ken -

Sorry I can't be more exact. The height I measured last year, i measured along the back, just like you would size a viola. The original string height when I bought the bass was "standard" -...

Just to continue . . .

I am still enjoying my time with this bass, even if I know its limitations. It's a solid instrument. I'm not ashamed to play it in any situation.

It seems to respond very well to synthetic core...

Good luck

Maybe you could contact John Sprague, who is involved with the U.S. import side of SHen?

Try this:
info@cscproducts.com

or (U.S. phone #):
888-600-8559

Those are from Shen's U.S. website.

BC fan column

Right - there's no scratching - you can use minimum weight to get a full sound.

ONe strange thing with these strings is that they "tighten up" as you play them in. The floppiness may disappear...

Weichs vs., BCs

It's been ages since I used Weichs, and I remember it being a very dark time (despite the bright strings). I can't compare them.

However, I am very happy with the BC's. You will get a lot more...

Willow

I like mine alot, for what it is. It's only two years old, but very playable and gets a good sound. It can't compare to basses in the $10,000 range, but in my opinion, compares very well with any...

Yeah, Richard - vomits. through two octaves on each string.

Having seen videos of your playing, I think you're right to be concerned about this issue. Try "popping" the bass forward with your...
