I think the string length was a standard 104 cm...

I think the string length was a standard 104 cm when I played it before the cut down. And I believe the cut was done after the bass was sold (maybe to another dealer?) and left London.

I saw and tried that bass in a renown bass atelier in Italy a few months ago. It is thought to be a Milanese instrument from circa 1750. The luthier then told me it went sold to Mr Ruiz.

D'Addario pizz

I think D'Addario Pizz E & A are the best for pizz playing, period. I've been using them for years now. I like their tension, growl and sustian. They also bow more than ok to me. I am matching them...
