That's exactly what I have been doing when recording! My BT4 always cuts through, clearly audible but pleasant at the same time. Of course it depends on the musical-style and overall-sound of the recording. Vintage / R&B= neck-pu with a bit of treble rolled in; Fusion / contemoprary-sounds: more bridge-pu with a bit of bass highlighted. It's always astonishing, how many beautiful over-tones and lively 'colours' end up on tape with the BT 4!
