In the scenario where this is truly the case, I wouldn't object to a bass being regraduated - and I'm sure there are luthiers around who are qualified to evaluate an instrument and make the call to do it, yourself among them - but until I start seeing things like, oh,
properly shaped fingerboards and bridges coming from even big-name shops as the routine rather than the exception, I probably won't be a fan of regraduating in general.
