I didn't really see a place to post this on Ken's forum, so I thought I'd try here...
I may have a gig for an acoustic bassist in the Des Moines, IA area on November 21st; I got the call today, and for me to do it would involve canceling some things, moving some other stuff around, at least one plane flight and a heck of a lot of inconvenience. So if I can find someone locally to sub the date, my life would be much simplified.

The show isn't hard; it primarily involves the music of Hank Williams and other country music of the 1940's and 50's. The book for it was written using the Nashville Number system. There would be little in the way of rehearsal - essentially the sound check would be it - so a general familiarity with the style (and the ability to think on your feet) would a big help. And the pay's OK - particularly for a Sunday night in Iowa... Oh - it's not a pit gig; the musicians are on stage and in costume.
