Pitch angle of Bridge-Tailpiece in Degrees. Length of after tuning. Saddle height. I heard that 1 degree change is 1" of saddle height, etc. But that depends on the length from saddle to Bridge. Bridge height, neck overstand, neck pitch, etc. Fingerboard camber, fingerboard thickness, neck strength from pull, etc..

A lot of things make the difference. The Luthier either knows and can feel the difference and knows what to do or he cant feel it or even know there is a problem. I know one or two that does and some that are clueless.

I like MY basses set up for the ease of a child playing it up and down so it is like butter, not the set up for Lumber Jack. Only the height of the bridge changes tension or the type/gauge of string used will make it stiffer in my set-up style.
