Although I didn't know
Wayman Tisdale to be a
Smith player, he was nonetheless a very gifted bass player and, by all reports, a very fine human being.
He apparently died in the last 24 hours after a hard-fought battle with bone cancer. He had a leg amputated about a year ago in an attempt to halt the spread of the disease, but to no avail. He had a very strong faith in
God, and spoke of it often.
He also played 12 strong seasons in the NBA before beginning his joyous recording career.
