Just wanted to start a string for these "hybrid" strings. If you are seriously seeking that performs well with the bow, but has some life and zing when pizzed, you may want to try these strings.
I have gone through two sets, and will add the following;
Pros:- excellent brightness and clarity
- fairly supple
- great sustain
- start easily with bow
- excellent overall quality
Cons:- Shorter life span (dead in 10 months to a year)
- Thin feel
They may be the best true hybrid string I have found. I think they are far superior to Obligato, albeit they are definately a steel string sound.
