Oh my God, Tim you be the man!! Your axe's and rig are off the chain, you know I'm a Ampeg fan as well as a "Smith Bass" exclusive player. If you ever decide to sell hit me up.

Thanks Albert. While I do like the Ampeg rig, my main rig is a QSC PLX3602 w/Alembic F2-B Pre-amp into my Eden Cabs.
I also use Smith's exclusively and will till my fingers can't move any more! |

Your welcome Tim. I'm really glad that Ken started his on forum. He builds some of the greatest basses in the world.

Is that mahogany core, walnut laminates and (obviously) flame maple top and back?

Well, show out, Mr. Bishop! I agree with Al: You ARE the man! When I grow up (and if the Lord hasn't returned by then), I hope to have a collection half as expansive and beautiful as yours. I am impressed, and inspired! ![]() |

I am very thankful and blessed to have a collection such as this and a wife that understands! Believe me, I don't take it for granted and I guess I am hopelessly hooked! What can I say? It's all Ken's fault.

Tim, Very nice collection you have here! When you say 'Birdseye Redwood' do you mean Bubinga? Do you know if there's any kind of Exhibition grade Bubinga? Best regards |

Birdseye Redwood is a very rare wood and Ken only made a few basses with it. In fact, I had never seen this wood used until Ken introduced it with his 20th. Anniversary Models. The KSA6 I had posted is 1 of 3 made. I believe the origin of this wood was California. I'm not aware of an "Exhibition" or 5A grade of Bubinga. While Bubinga can have a nice figure (some nicer than others), it is a heavier but also great sounding tone-wood.

Sorry, now I see that it's completely different from Bubinga . Since I live in Brazil, I'm not familiar with this wood. It's a very beautiful bass indeed! Congrats. ![]() Thanks, Jose |
