Re Amanda Ruzza videos.
Man o man, Ken! Some of the "comments" on her videos are vicious, vulgar and even brutal. Is that typical of BG players? |

comments..
Typical internet 'experts' commenting. Just listen and watch har. She does a good job in my opinion and sounds great on her Smith bass.

Not just on her. I looked at another female player and you get the same thing. I am not gonna comment why people say what they say but it's easy to comment. It's not so easy to play!

Youtube Wannabes
The only Female player i ever see on Youtube thats gets her respect is Tal wilkenfeld, She Pretty much is undeniably Good. In this age of People having to wow everyone with solos & youtube if your not Playing 1000s of notes you arent anything special but i Bet most of these guys that sit at home making videos of soloing are doing so because their Phones are not ringing for gigs haha. Even if someone is a great player its not right to talk about another persons talents or lack of unless they are seeking a critique or instruction. If someone of any race/sex/color is playing rhythmically in the Proper key & arent playing to busy (unless they are taking a tasteful solo) then you cant say anything about their ability.

Very Quick Side Note
On a very Quick side Note & Not to Get off Topic. What happened to Just Being a Good Player & Playing a Good Straight Line Like this Girl Does in Her Videos Mostly? The World Has to Many Jaco/Victor wannabes & not Enough Chuck Rainey/James Jamerson wannabes

We live in, as a friend of mine often says, an "all sizzle and no steak age."
When I was younger and much dumber, I once asked Freddie Green (a true rhythm guitarist for those of you too young to remember), Why don't you ever solo? He just looked at me over his guitar with a puzzled look, rolled his eyes, and shrugged his shoulders |
