Lightbulb Music Stand Light?

I wonder if any of you have any experience with the new LED music stand lights (battery powered). I just ordered myself an old-school 40 w light requiring AC power, but I guess I will probably need to have something more portable one day. My eyesight's going fast, extra light is a necessity.

Thanks

I'm feeling your pain, comrade. I had near perfect vision sans any aids for 45 years. At 48 I could probably use bifocals. Anyway, I have one of these small LED book lights that uses a very small battery and it is sufficient as long as the staffs are Real Book size. It looks kind of like the 60's modern street lamps or the "War of the Worlds" (original movie) aliens. I don't remember the maker, but I got it at Barnes and Noble. I also have an itty-bitty book light that is a good bit brighter, but it chews through C cells pretty quickly if not powered by the AC adapter. Even though it is not as bright, I prefer the little LED because it gives off a more even spread of light and can easily be positioned (it has a fairly short bendable neck) so it doesn't shine in my eyes.

+ one on the mighty brights - I just did the Mikado and they were invaluable. Best to get two of the single ones and stick them on the top two corners of the stand so theres no shadow, otherwise you lose the light on the top two corners of the music, plus then you can bend them without bending them in the way of the page-turning... but they are excellent stuff.
