Ken Smith is on a distinguished road
Arrow 19th Century Tyrolean (in restoration)

This Bass was originally made without a Neck Block in the Tyrol Region that connects Northern Italy, Austria and Southern Germany. It was made from very nice wood and inlaid with Violin grade Purfling which combined is a notch or two above the infamous 'Blockless Wonders' we have seen and heard about. The Tone of this Bass is more that of an Old Italian Bass than anything German to my ear.

Currently in Restoration, which includes a Neck Graft, Neck Block, Top re-arching and full Rib and Back restorations as well.

Top/Back Length; 43" top, 44" back
Upper Bout; 21"
Middle Bout; 14 3/4"
