Default Modern Pieces

Recently I've been getting into more modern music, so naturally I'd like to start learning a modern piece written for double bass. I went to my local sheet music store yesterday, they didn't anything.

For an idea of what level my playing is I've played the capuzzi, eccles sonata, 1st mvmt of the dittersdorf concerto with miloslav gajdos' cadenza and some storch hrabe etudes.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Check out Ranjbaran's Ballade for Unaccompanied Bass. It's a nice piece.

Also, Psy by Berio is a nice piece. As well as the Fryba Suite. A little warning though, Modern music is almost always much harder than classical music (meaning the era not the term). I would recommend working on some romantic pieces first.

Thanks I'll look into the Ranjbaran piece. I just started Bottesini's Reverie, so that'll be my first romantic piece.

Thanks again.
