Bridge
Hello everyone.
Recently I picked up a very old bass (probably 19c) for not much money with the hopes of bringing it back to a playable state. I have a few questions for the experts about the practicality of reworking this instrument, but I will leave that for the next post, don't want to ramble on with my 1st post. Anyway, the attached image shows the bridge that came with this bass. It has a different cut from the usual. Can anyone educate me on this style of bridge? Thanks! Thank you Wayne......
for the reply. I will definitely have most if not all the work completed by a competent repair person, including a set-up when the time comes.
The bridge itself seems to be well made and chamfered nicely so I had no idea if it was a catalog style or not. The bass it was on had been poorly "restored" in 1925. Luckily it has not seen much use since then. I will start another thread on that bass. |

Derrick - might want to turn on your PM ability...
If you're halfway close by I could probably help you get the thing at least playable, so that you can see what it sounds like and decide how much work to put into it... Send me an email or PM if you like. |
