Default Carry-onn spike??

I'm looking to reduce the weight of my bass in a flight case. I'm pretty sure I usually removed the endpin anyway in the past, but this time I probably will for sure.

Has anyone ever taken their endpin on a plane in a carry-on bag? I don't want to have security get all weird about bringing a sharp stick on board, but I'd also rather carry anything I can't do without with me...

Any thoughts?
-Dave

Default

I haven't tried to carry on an endpin, but it seems likely to me that a TSA agent would confiscate it. Leaving you at your destination without an endpin.
