Default Happy new Year!!! from NYC!..

Hi folks,
I'm a new guy on the block, I'm a working bassist in NYC, I also am an incurable gear nerd and spend hours looking at basses online, buying, selling my gear and well..wasting much too much time looking at bass porn, buying and selling my next bass(when I wind up using the same bass live and the same beater bass at home in front of the TV or computer) when, in fact.. I should probably be practicing.

I've got my eye on a new(used) Smith 4, I'm playing bolt-ons for so long, they tend to shift alot in the back of vans, while on tour..or shlepping to local gigs in a gigbag..I've wanted to own a beautiful KS for years,I've owned only two NT basses,an Ibanez Musician series, when I was a youngster, and an FBB Custom Bass Works which rocked, but was 32" scale and had a tiny body,so it never gave me a big enough tone to use with alot of acts,it got sold.
I'm hoping if I buy something really special,it'll be a keeper.
I've got my eyes peeled for a used 4, hopefully,by this time, next month,I'll be jamming my KS!
Happy New year,ALL!..

Welcome to the place Kevin. Sounds like you have the same disease that many of us suffer with - GAS.

Hope you find what you're looking for soon. Just remember, even if it's perfect, you'll eventually be gassin' and doing things to ease the pain.

I need to warn you about certain other forum members that generally hang out fairly regularly on the Down Here (NZ), Here (US), The Grits Thread and The Happy New Year From North Carolina thread, all under the category of The Bull Pit a/k/a The Pit Bull, along with various and sundry other threads. Actually some interesting, talented and somewhat insane bassists. If you find that kind of knuckle-headedness appealing, join in the fracas. Enjoy your time here.

Aka the Pit Bull?.. lol.. More like the toothless pit bull aka 'the Play Pen'.. maybe 'sand box' is a better descriptive title. You think?

I suggest you spend more time in the bass sections so your brain doesn't turn to mush early on!

'Play pen' and 'sand box' are also appropriate for the area. I'm thinkin' pretty much any adjective would fit somewhere in there.

Too late - brain's been mush for a long time.
