Default Note question: Per Questa Bella Mano

Hi folks.
In bar 38 (semiquavers/16th notes down from a C#), the Carl Fischer/Levinson edition has a G# for the sixth and seventh notes. Every other place I've looked has G natural written. No other instrument has a G of any sort in that bar, but there are G sharps in the bar before and after, and two bars before the solo bass part has a G with a natural written as an accidental (which is unnecessary for the key).

Any thoughts??
Dave
