Default Truss rod bullet

Truss rod bullet on my BSR 5J ?97 had been rounded inside by previous owners, I didn?t know that when buying it. The neck holds up pretty well, the string action is kind of tedium, which is acceptable for me, but still I would like to replace the bullet for a working one. I wonder if it can be screwed off and what should be the inner thread diameter if I order a new bullet for manufacture with a good metal works master? Is it possible at all, or are there any other options?
